Rain Room at Barbican Centre, London ...

An immersive, interactive installation by art studio rAndom International exploring the notion of water as an increasingly scarce resource fills the Barbican's Curve gallery. Visitors can simply watch or opt to walk through the perpetual rainfall - trusting that they won't get wet. The Rain Room art work invites us to consider the role played by technology in the harnessing of precious natural materials. On four Sundays during the exhibition, dancers will perform a new short piece created by choreographer Wayne McGregor, Artistic Director of Random Dance, to a score by Max Richter who previously collaborated with McGregor and artist Julian Opie when he wrote the score to the 2008 Infra as part of a Royal Ballet commission.
