A spacecraft that sends us pictures of what space is really like outside our solar system!

The Voyager 1 spacecraft is a 722 kg space probe launched by NASA on September of 1977, to study the other Solar System and interstellar medium.

It has been operating for over 35 years; the spacecraft receives routine commands and transmits data back to Earth. It is currently traveling in a previously unknown region of space. It is still unclear whether this region is part of interstellar or an area within the Solar System.

However, the Voyager 1 is close to entering inter-stellar space! This means it will exit the field of the sun’s effects and showing us what space is really like outside our solar system.

The radio communication system of Voyager 1 was designed to be used up to and beyond the limits of the Solar System during the extremely long flight! The whole spacecraft is designed with awesome technology, technology that is still used in present time. Hopefully Voyager 1 will help us answer some of the biggest questions we have about our universe!
