One of the most, if not the most significant
technologies to come out of the 20th century was Nuclear Power. Millions
of people around the world were infatuated with the idea of Nuclear
Power, because it was being advertised as the safest way to power cities.
In 1958, as a result of all the excitement surrounding Nuclear Power, the car company Ford, designed a model for a car that would run with a Nuclear Powered engine. The car would operate on the same sort of system that a Nuclear Submarine does, however the Ford designers believed Nuclear Fission Steam Engines would become compact, and able to fit inside of a standard sized car!
The car was dubbed the Ford Nucleon, and can be viewed at the Henry Ford Museum, in Dearborn, Michigan. The Ford Nucleon was the inspiration for the fictional vehicles in the video game series Fallout!
