There’s a 13-year-old boy in India who produced winged beetles in his urine after hatching the eggs in his body.

There exists a motif in urban folklore that regards the presence of animals or insects manifesting themselves in human bodies, and it might turn out all the more atrocious given the fact that such a thing is indeed possible. Such is the case that happened to a 13-year old boy in Bengal, India. His name was (not certain if it eventually led to fatality) Chandan Goswami.

The story was brought to light by Reuters back in June 2003 and it was reported that the boy ‘has begun producing winged beetles in his urine after hatching the eggs in his body'. The claims were backed up by Dr. Chittranjan Maity, the state's medical education director, who confirmed the insects seemed to be hatching in a fistula near the boy’s groin.

Doctors battled to kill the eggs, but unfortunately, that was the last Goswami was heard of. It was the Calcultta Telegraph that continued to update the international community as new developments were made. The last update said he had been admitted to the urology department of SSKM hospital.

Believe it or not, a fortnight had not even elapsed after Goswami was admitted when another Indian child aged two-and-a-half was rushed to the doctors after several black beetles began buzzing out his rectum before their eyes!
