If you are nominated for an Oscar and lose, you get a $48,000 consolation prize!

It might not be so bad to lose at the Oscars after all. If you're nominated for an Oscar and you lose, you get a swag bag to take home.


A company called Distinctive Assets puts together the goodie bag which includes odd items like condoms and windex. For 2013 the bag was valued between $45k and $48k.

Some other items are a $3,000 3-night hotel stay, a $12,000 trip to anywhere in Australia, fancy maple syrup.

Another weird one is a $5,000 Vampire Facelift that re-injects blood platelets into your face to trigger stem cells to grow new skin and get rid of wrinkles.
